The aspiration of the book is to give an insight into the world of subcultures. It wants to clarify the history and the appearance of the Skinheads. The prejudice of right-wing extremism and its origin are main topics.
I wrote this book because the term “Skinhead” degenerated in the mass media into a synonym for
racism and neo-Nazism. The Book wants to clarify the true history of this apolitical and anti-racist movement and wants to resolve the common
prejudices.
The book takes a pass on fotographs to avoid the personalisation of the issue. The illustrations,
created in Adobe Illustrator and Corel Painter, underline the layout and have an unitary character.
A precise research is the base for the interesting facts and figures. Furthermore an interview gives the possibility to understand the ideology of this youth culture.
The book is for everyone who wants to discover the world of subcultures and wants to call the misrepresentation of Skins in the mass media into question.
